The port of Guaymas begins development of Logistic Zone


On June 7th, the Port of Guaymas under its plans of Port development. Will enable the logistic trade zone in the Empalme, Sonora area.

On a surface of approximately 88 Ha. Within 10 Kilometers from the commercial Port, located strategically which connected railway infrastructure owned by Ferromex which allow united trains from the port area to the border using the multimodal corridors Guaymas-Arizona and Guaymas-Mexicali which to date is in operation with general cargo movement via railway and trucking also the area is connected to international road 4 lanes No 15.

In the zone is planned the development of 20 Ha for containerized cargo it is exclusive for the container Terminal which today the Port Administration has in process a contest where 8 international companies are interested in build and operate a terminal.

With addition of the Logistic trade zone, outside the port area, will allow the growth of the unit business which the port negotiate with international companies.

The port has within it strategic objectives to increase the operations volume and also a growth of clients and generation of direct and indirect jobs to increase the local economy.
